I got his kit in a collection of unopened model kits when my brother-in-law passed away a couple of years ago. I already had a '53 Studebaker that I built 30-years ago. However, I needed a race car for a set that I recently finished. The set is a 1953 Ford pickup truck that includes a car hauling trailer. Since the Ford truck is a 1953, I figured a '53 race car would go well with it. And studebakers were used often on the tracks of the 1950s and early 1960s. At the end of this blog is a link to the blog that I created for the truck and trailer.

At first, I was going to use the racing Hemi engine. However, I found it didn't fit properly into the engine bay area. So I changed and decided to use the stock engine instead. But I am building both engines. The Hemi I will use in another project or may display it alone.
